Jennifer Perlmutter: How Art Enriches, Heals and Transforms Our Lives

Jennifer Perlmutter's art has been exhibited in San Francisco, New York and Los Angeles. It is collected internationally, including clients such as Eddie Murphy and Burt Bacharach. In 2014, Lafayette was fortunate to be selected as the location of the Jennifer Perlmutter Gallery, where she helps visitors develop strong connections with art. Jennifer believes that great art speaks truths we all understand. At this special lunch meeting, she will help us appreciate how the beauty of art enriches, heals and transforms our lives.

Great art speaks truths we all understand.  It shares beauty that enriches, heals and transforms our lives.  This is the beginnng of the conversation for jennifer Perlmutter.

With a degree from Emerson College, Jennifer began her career in Los Angeles as an Art Department assistant in Film and TV.  She then focused on fine art mateials and methods for design and furniture. This earned her an exclusive contract to create secial paint effects in South Korea for two luxury real estate destinations.

Between 2000 and 2008, Jennifer refocused her talent on Fine Art, developing a skilled facility with materials, composition and design. She sold work to collectors like Eddie Murphy and Burt Bacharach.

After moving to the Bay Area, Jennifer attended an artist intensive program in Taos that elevated her career even further.  This is where her mastery in the studio met pointed expression, giving her work a resonant emotional depth.
Jennifer's most influential teachers have been Katherine Chang Liu, Alex Powers and Christopher Schink.  They
inspired her love for non-objective painting which suits her self-reflective nature.  Her process is a call and response
method using color, texture, and line to mark the moment or a memory.

Jennifer's work has been exhibited in San Francisco, New York, and Los Angeles, and collected internationally.
Commissions are shown in major hotels like the Hilton Hotel and the Mirage in Las Vegas, and Toronto's Casino Niagara. In 2010, she gave a TECx talk on innovation and art.  The talk communicated her approach to art and
TEDx talk on innova tion and art. The talk communicated her approach to art and business: one brick at a time,
from where ever you are, responding to what is and trusting the process.

In 2014, she opened the Jennifer Perlmutter Gallery in Lafayette, CA to bring the deep experience she has with art
to another lever. She continued to make art while curating and showing the work of others, helping more people
develop strong connections with art.  Her mission is sharing compelling fine art that touches and inpires.
