MDBW is excited to present three dynamic women working tirelessly to help others. Join us on February 14th for a panel discussion as Sister Ann Weltz of Bay Area Crisis Nursery, Jeri Boomgaarden of East Bay Community Foundation and Julie Strand of SalesForce.Org share some of the biggest challenges facing nonprofits, discuss accomplishments of the nonprofits and how technology can impact non-profits.
Bay Area Crisis Nursery is the only greater East Bay provider of short term residential care for young children of families facing crisis. These families are temporarily overcome by homelessness, domestic violence, substance abuse issues or medical emergencies. Most BACN clients reside in the greater East Bay and all receive services at no charge. BACN is funded purely by private donations, without any government assistance. Sister Ann Weltz founded BACN over 30 years ago and continues to lead this critical, “always on” East Bay organization.
The East Bay Community Foundation envisions a Just East Bay where everyone is treated fairly and all voices are heard. East Bay Community Foundation partners with communities to champion quality education for all students, fight for good jobs and livable wages, and invest in high-impact community programs. Jeri Boomgaarden has been managing donor engagement at East Bay Community Foundation since 2012. She was previously at Clorox, where she led the company’s volunteerism in addition to a full-time role in Product Supply Organization.
Salesforce.org is the philanthropic arm of Salesforce.com, the #1 cloud computing technology. Salesforce.org partners with nonprofit and higher education organizations worldwide, to help them become innovative adopters of Salesforce technology. It also manages the company’s charitable donations, grants and employee volunteer activity. Julie Strand is an Account Executive who helps nonprofits use the Salesforce platform to drive their mission forward and cultivate lasting engagement with donors and other constituents.
